MY SERVICES
At Barstart, we focus on improving the overall performance at event bars in order to improve service , increase sales and profitability, and to build a plan to enhance future events.
Planning The Event
There is nothing worse than attending a festival or show, and waiting too long to get served at the bars. Not only does this aggravate customers, it puts the team under extreme pressure and ultimately restricts sales. at these events, you have a captive audience and it is essential that you look at every potential opportunity to deliver the best sales possible.
At Barstart, we would work alongside your team from set up to execution to deliver the most enhanced service possible. Post the event we would also deliver a synopsis based on the event identifying further opportunities increase profitability
The first day would be well in advance of the event, reviewing any historical data, operational setup and existing event plan. We would then build a plan from ordering, through bar setup and onto the event execution itself. We would be operating the event alongside your team to deliver the best experience for your customers and deliver enhanced sales and profits, by helping with the following:
Case Studies
Grand Slam of Darts - We were brought in to manage the bars at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton. The previous year, the queue for the bar had become large and was encroaching on the auditorium. With a review of systems this year, we delivered sales growth of 28%, profit growth of 5% and reduced labour costs by 5%
We set up the bar to deliver maximum sales at great speed. Doors opened one hour before the show started and we operated in such a way that we dealt with the initial rush to a point that customers became confident that there was not a long wait for drinks.
We controlled the queue moving it at speed, being able to monitor the bar and keep the queue happy. With that initial rush completed, we were able to redeploy staff and maintain the auditorium throughout the event.

Manchester Punk Festival - The Bread Shed in Manchester was added to the list of venues for the annual Manchester Punk festival. The bars needed to be set to be able to deliver maximum sales between acts. With 6 sites acting as venues for this event, the bar needed to be fluid and adaptable to maintain service to a constant flow of people. The bar product listings were reviewed to be able to deliver bulk products at speed allowing the team to maintain service level. Working in conjunction with the attached pub, staff mobility maintained a strict control of costs.
Wolverhampton Freshers, Block Party - this was an event across 2 adjacent venues. On liaising with the council, we were able to close the pedestrianised street behind the sites and link the 2 venues creating a large outside bar space in a marquee, allowing us to deliver a multi-room format across 4 spaces, 2 pubs, 1 beer garden & the marquee. Temporary bars were set up to operate alongside existing bars to deliver sales. This was set up as a ticketed event so that front door control was smooth, fast and guaranteed a capacity by a certain time. A complete security risk assessment completed for a slick controlled entry and site management once at capacity.
